dragons gathering

I finally met up with the dragons today.
We have decided the last time to meet on the 27th of every month or once a month.
Our initial plan was to meet at 1100 and catch a movie at 1115, lot one.
TinFong msged to say that she was going to be late as she just woke up and will not be joining us for movie. The rest of us met at 1100 and decided that we wouln't catch any movie! Shumin already watched IP man, the movie which the rest of us wanted to watch. Therefore, we decided to walked around instead. We had pizza hut for lunch and Tinfong joined us as soon as she could.
We stayed on in pizza hut to gossip after lunch.. Haha. I guess there was too much to catch up with over a period of 2 months. (= We went to Shihui's house for our christmas exchange gifts and passing of souvenirs for those who went abroad. I got Shihui's present! Haha.. Thanks a lot daohui.. I love your handmade gifts.. I love your piggy earrings and necklace most! Thanks thanks! TinFong got the diary that i bought. I hope she likes it! I wanted so badly for myself. =P
We tried Weeling's pineapple tarts! It was awesome!! Haha! Especially for a pineapple tart lover like me. (= Thanks darling! Tinfong made some cookies too! To be honest, I thought they were fine! Shihui is too mean la!! Haha.. It was fun catching up with you girls! Thanks for the joy and laughters that you all have brought! See you all soon, on the 7th Jan 09!

Merry Christmas!

I'm here to fill in my recent updates of what I've done since I was back!
I caught the movie Cape No.7 with Ben Teo..
It's a nice movie.. haha.. Ben simply loves it!
I didn't quite understand the movie at the start..
Luckily Ben was there to explain to me!

It's the Christmas season!
I managed to do some shopping today. (=
We had lunch and went to Bugis.
It was crowded as usual..
But surprisingly, I was more bearable with the crowd today!
Maybe because of the current season of love. Haha.
A few pairs of earrings and a belt are all that I got for myself.
It was so crowded that I gave up the thought of even trying out the clothes. (=
It came as a surprise for me to see a GUESS shop in Bugis Junction, given that I haven't been there for a long time!
I was complaining to Connie about the GUESS sales at Taka..
There wasn't any nice stuff remaining by the time i visited.
The branch at Bugis Junction had many nice wallets and bags on sale!
I bought myself another wallet! (=
That's the reward for myself this Christmas for doing housework chores and cooking.. (=

i'm back!!

i was back yesterday..home sweet home!i simply missed the
local temperature and food!
the first place we went after touching down was to have breakfast at coffeeshopi miss our carrot cake (cai tao guay), you tiao, fish porridge etc.
beijing's food is way to salty to my liking..
haha!
and it was also too cold for me..
managed to take a whole lot of pictures!
i particularly love the snow scenes!
we were lucky to catch the first snow this winter! (=

i'm in beijing- day 1

i landed in beijing international airport at 3.25pm!
the temperature then was around 2 degree celsius.f
reezing cold..
and on top of that.. we had to get of the plane via a staircase and board a bus to the airport..
then..change to a tram to the correct terminal to collect our luggage!
my gosh..and this time round we took air china..
i must say their service is really.. ermerm..yea..
dian dao wei zhi..
our first stop in beijing was to watch a acrobatics show which lasted for one hour.
it was quite exciting i thoughti love the bian lian part the most (=
it was 630pm when the show ended..
we proceeded to have our dinner at "yu shan" meaning imperial food
tasted a couple of dishes of Man Han Quan Xi, those which Empress Dowager Cixi loved.
i remembered the name of one of the dian xin called "Yuan Meng Shao Bao" (Realising Dream Bun)..
this unique name was given by the empress dowager herself..
one of her dreams came true after eating the bun, therefore the name of that unique bun!aha
the dinner was alright..
my family sat together with another family of four..
parents are both teachers...

hai.. can't stand singaporeans who like to compare so much..
first thing that male teacher(father) sat down , he asked my mum..
"how old are your kids??"
"ooh..ic.. so are they still schooling?"
"where are they studying?"

"i'm teaching in blabla..it's quite famous in the east!" (although i've nvr heard of those schools b4)haha.. i hope these "eagerness to show off" attitude will cease of after the first dinner..
if not..dun think i can stand having my meals with him for the rest of the trip!!
kk.. i know i should stop these negative stuff..
aha.. i hope tomorrow will be a better day! and a warmer day too!

exams are FINALLY over!

yeahness!
4 dec marked the end of my examination and the last day of Sem 1 too..
time has really passed so quickly that i just came to realise that i've spent a semester in uni.
i'm glad that the exams are over and what's left for the rest of this year is "time for fun".hee!
i think i need a good break!
so people, if you wanna go kbox, movie, shopping ,mj or anything, give me a ring! (=

some recent updates on myself..
my maid has gone back to indonesia and my mum has decided not to employ a new one..
reason being my youngest brother is old enough to be independent and of course.. she wants us to start doing some housework too! aha..
hmm..i thought doing housework has been fine so far..
but i realised there's something that i really dread doing!
cleaning up after cooking! aeww!

to connie: i need to thank you for all the reasons that you've thanked me for too! it's a vice versa thingy! (=

i'll be leaving for china tomorrow!

i was so excited to get home from school that i mistook 189 for 184..
luckily i realised it early and got off at the next stop -_-

just got back my human geog project and phy geog lab report.
not fantastic at all..
to be honest..i'm rather disappointed.
got a B for human geog project and a B+ for phy geog lab report.

i hope things would get better as times pass
hopefully i'll be able to get used to uni life better.
the stress level is building up in me..
this is getting bad..
i don like the way i am now..
the feeling of getting stressed over exams is sucky..
argh~

i'll try to think of the hols that is coming up soon while i study! (=

tropic thunder

I managed to catch a movie with Ben last week!

This movie is directed and starred by Ben Stiller. The other main actors include Jack Black and Robert Downey Jr. Basically it was a M18 action comedy.

Seriously, i almost vomitted when i saw the first few scenes of the movie. I thought i saw intestines, broken arms and legs, organs drooping out etc. Then I realise that the actors in the movie "were making" a movie. But that didn't make me feel any better. I had always been afraid of watching such violent and gross films.

But thankfully the story got better. I was better able to "watch" the movie treating it as a "comedy" without having to think too much. I wouldn't say that the plot is good but some scenes were quite hilarious. It should be good for laughing out as Ben was laughing throughout. Or maybe the army guys can understand it better since it is something on "brotherhood".

2.5 more weeks to exams.

I tried baking muffins for the first time..

luckily it turned out to be okay..

i find it very sweet too!

so i dun really like it..

I think i've developed an interest in baking!
You will feel a great sense of achievment when you make something nice for others to eat!

Today is really a better day!
I met ben in e morning!
Haven't seen him since last week...
he sent me to school and we had lunch together!
aha
and he crashed my lecture..

after my lessons, we went to walk walk at clementi central.
we finally got our photo album!
yeah..FINALLY!
it was overdue for one year!
aha..

We had some snacks after that..
what i can say is..I'm totally in love with the "zhui kueh" at the clementi wet market!
I hope that craving goes away soon
as it's quite unhealthy with e amount of oil that comes with it.

Tomorrow is my OFF DAY!
but i'll have to visit the dentist tmr morning..

it's been a long long time since i excercised! lol

bad day

I survived 4hours long of lectures today!
it was boring cause i was alone..
as my friend decided to skip lecture today!

I had lunch alone too! )=
because ben cannot make it

The worst is yet to come..

i was on my way home on bus 75.
i was sitting at the inner seat.
there was a guy beside me..
he dozed off..
and he began swinging to and fro..
and landed on my shoulders

i was squeezed..
argh!
finally when i reached the bus stop, i had to poke him!
and said "excuse me"

I hope tomorrow will be a better day!

it's thursday again!
time really flies..
i've been working on my chinese debate report, geog lab report and my english project!
quite glad that they are over..
but i have another two more term papers to go..
keeping in mind that my exams are coming!
wahaha!
this is a highly stressful period!

i realised that there are quite a number of people around me whose birthday is in Oct and early Nov..
sadly..i'm broke!!
aha.
and i've been eating a lot lately.
so unhealthy!
i really need put aside some time for excercising!
really been ages since i excercised!
and of course! my ultimate aim is to shed some weight.

something contradicting to this..
i had Botak Jones today! as recommended by my friend
It was fattening..
but i thought the food was great!
people who have not tried it should taste it!

Basically, the price ranges from 5bucks to 30 plus!
You can get something relatively decent for 8 bucks! (=

visited k box with benjamin yesterday..
he only reached at around 3pm becoz he booked out late..
even so.. by 7pm we ran out of songs to sing..

i guess my passion for singing is dying out..
in the past, i used to find the 2-7pm slot just nice or somtimes too short for me!!
yea..i noe it's very exaggerating..
but..yes..that's e truth!



the next thing that i wanna do is..
to MAHJONG!
it's been ages since i touched those tiles!!!

i MUST mj at least once before my year end exams!



today was a fufilling day for me..
i went to vivo city with benjamin!
we had lunch and did some shopping..
as usual it was crowded..
we tried to take some pictures..but realise that the scenery there isn't that good..
but nonetheless!
i forced him to take!
haha

i thought this was interesting.

forced him to take under the hot sun! haha! can't even open his eyes!

the wind was too strong! see.. two strands of my hair are flying!

had dinner with my family in the evening as it was my dad's birthday!went to eat crabs! too delicious that i forgot to take any photos! lol

dental visit

my toothache was driving my crazy..
finally plucked up courage to visit the dentist!
the idea of having those "cling-clanging" in my mouth gives me butterflies in my stomach..
i went to the bukit batok branch which was the nearest to my place.
i got a queue number and waited for 3 hours!!
luckily i have no lessons today!
and thankfully my 3 hours were well-spent.
i had my breakfast and did 1.5 readings!

after seeing the dentist,
the verdict was:
my root canal problem is getting worse...
this time i really have to do the operation..
eeeks!!
root canal is the deepest layer of your gum- where the roots are.
it is sort of infected.
so..
the dentist would actually have to drill a hole through my molar teeth and to the roots!
to cleanse the area which is infected..
after which, my molar would be capped (a form of protection) from germs.

the dentist explained that this would take three to four sessions
and would cost between 300 to 500.
sob.
there's gonna be a big hole in my pocket.
hopefully mum and dad would aid me a little..

i hope to get this done asap..
otherwise i would be living in misery all through my exams!

alright..shan't go on lamenting about it..
only got myself to blame!! lol. should have heeded their advice to go for it few years back.

on the lighter note,
i'm able to see ben tomorrow!
haven't seen him since last week!

something interesting happened during Chinese lit lecture today.
Today's topic was on 山水田园诗。
Basically the lecturer was going through the works of famous poets in 唐朝 。
I would say that he is a friendly and humorous guy..
Friendly because of his enchanting smile that is held throughout the lecture.
Why humorous?
sadly.. because of his bad habits.

《醉翁亭记》
ah.. 环滁皆山也。其西南诸峰，林壑尤美ah。
望之蔚然而深秀者ah，琅琊也。
ah山行六七里，渐闻水声潺潺，而泻出于两峰之间者ah..，酿泉也。
峰回路转，ah有亭翼然临于泉上者，醉翁亭也。
作亭者谁ah？山之僧智仙也。
名之者谁？ah太守自谓也。
太守与客来饮于此，饮少辄醉ah，而年又最高，故自号曰「醉翁」也。

well... i noe that isn't something big..
but.. at least i finally get to rest..

CL22o7 tutorial was interesting today!
we actually had a debate session on “脏话是种文化关键词。是与否。”
it was fun!
hm.. actually it's quite clear-cut that vulgarities indeed reflects keywords of culture .
however, i guess everyone enjoyed debating whether vulgarities is a portrayal of individual character or a norm in the culture where people use it.

having said so..
there was a bad news for me!
my lecturer decides to give us a report to do which constitutes to 20% of the module.
argh!!
in other words..
i would have to write another essay apart from my term paper!!
tsk..

anyway.. i finished watching a taiwan drama ‘命中注定我爱你'
i was totally absorbed by it!
ahha..needless to say..
i cried countless times..
chenxinyi always so pitiful..
haha..
but i'm glad that she evolved into someone charming and captured the heart of jichunxi!

those who haven't watch it should hurry!

congratulations to myself on passing my driving practical!!
wEEEE!!
that practically made my day!
but i was extremely nervous before, during and even after the test..
haha..
had to apply for a license which cost me 50 bucks and photo-taking for driving license which adds another 6 bucks!
....
pay so much..
nonetheless... i didn't complain becoz i was still "hyped-up" over my result.
ben was nice to meet me at bbdc.. haha..
although he turned up after my test..
i can't stop grinning at him..
so he keeps complaining tat i'm yaya!
but anw..thanks for ur treat!

my project mates and i went to far east in the afternoon..
we had do an interview with a tattoo master.
haha..cause our project is on tattoo..linking it to globalisation
there were a couple of tattoo shops there..
as we were all girls.. it took us quite long before deciding which shop owner looks the most friendly!
haha..
we were very lucky to interview the grand daughter of "Johnny Two Thumb"..
apparently he was a very famous tattoo master.
had a great lesson and learnt lots more on tattoo today..
now..i believe my idea of tattooing isn't that superficial as i learnt that people actually tattoo for different reasons! (=

This week was simply hectic..
with all the extra tuition lessons for my tutee, mid terms and projects..
so relieved that it was finally the end of the week!
time to relax a little!

i had a wonderful evening with my jc classmates

it was a fun and memorable bbq i guess.. (=

the food was nice! super nice!

becoz it was the hardwork of many ppl! haha

and we simply 玩疯了！

all the chasing and hilarious jokes

with the presence of peixuan sockhong siewhuai and dragons

it was hard not to be so crazy..haha

although we always seem to be doing lame and childish things..

we never fail to enjoy it!

it was a great feeling to stay so bonded even after graduation

and i hope that this would always remain the same!!
