The Belated Birthday

It's only been the third week of school and my dear friend is sick!
But I believe he is feeling very much better after seeing us! Hahaha!
Yup.. We've been out celebrating Albert's birthday.. Belated one actually.
And we bought him a adidas jacket(:

We had dinner at Fish & Co and proceeded to Bakerinz for dessert!

Guess what's this? It's called Coupe Cheesecake! Haha! Pls lo.. I was shocked when this was being served to me! This is ice cream what!? Yeah.. Cheese-flavoured ice-cream! I felt so cheated! LOL.

I'm so tired! Next coming up would be Dragon's dinner.. Haha..

Teachers' Day Gift

I received my first ever gift from a student today! Haha!
Seriously, i was quite surprised when my student said,
"Teacher, this is a gift for you! Wish u Happy Teachers' Day in advance!"
Lol. Yeah.. I know that might sound "song", but i was so touched!
That really made my day! Especially so when it was pouring just now...
Hm.. I shall start to think about teaching as a profession seriously. (:

Come to think of it, I don't remember being so sweet and nice to buy gifts for my teachers when i was back in sec 3. And i thought that buying gifts was a primary school thingy.. Haha. So apparently I'm quite mistaken! lol..

Yep, so much said.. I'm glad i've been catching up with my readings. Although i am still a little behind my readings for EC2101, I'm not feeling as stressed! That's something good i suppose(:

Too full??

Bugis trip was not really fruitful as i didn't manage to get what i intended to!

I only remembered buying a mickey mouse t shirt and the rest was food.

But i'm still as delighted cause i love eating? Haha.

First we had the KFC porridge meal for brunch. Yummy! Thanks Ben! And we had yoshinoya for lunch.. Two types of fastfood in a day.. -_- Haha.. Both of us were bloated after lunch and didn't feel like moving!

From the above pictures, I conclude that Ben is a better actor than me! zZ!

为什么当我们被亲戚表扬时，父母总会有这种反应？

父母：“他啊。。。很懒惰！家务都不帮我做！”（之类的话）
父母为何都不一同称赞自己的儿子呢？

为什么弟弟妹妹平日叫你姐姐，但在生气的时候却会连名带姓地叫你呢？

为什么老师会和同学们这样说话？“期末考就快到了，我们要一起加油！”
但我们明明知道老师其实是要同学加油。

为什么当某某人对你说“小丽，你真会做人！”可以是褒义，也可使贬义？？

为什么外国人在说话时所使用的第三人称和我们有些不同？

Peter: "This is he!"

哈哈。。。这个周末我得好好去想一想！

1st week of school

This is only the first week of school but i feel exhausted.. Oh no..
I know that's really bad. However, I really feel that after the first lecture i already have lots of readings to do and the lecturers are already briefing about term papers and projects. They are sort of hinting that we should get started on the research part. This is so unlike me. Barely passed the first week of school and I'm already so worried about those already piled up work.

EC2303 Foundations for Econometrics and EC2101 Microeconomics I are fine so far.. But the reading kills. Three chapters each for the first lecture..

CL2121 which is the history of chinese literature is a killer! I can sense those literature works coming, on the way to bombard me. I'm really afraid of literature now.. But this is a core module. SOb.

CL3203 (Pragmatics and Discourse Analysis) and CL3207( Sociolinguistics) are quite interesting. A big part goes to the lecturers i guess (: But the thing that is worrying me is that the size of the class is sooo small (one 10 , e other one 19). Can you imagine how sharp is the bell curve!? And I'm one out of three of the year 2 amongst the year 3 and 4.

All right... see i've been complaining.. I guess i feel better now.. after some blabbering! I can't complain to Ben as he will say i am always complaining.. lol. so i guess this i s my only source.. sorry ppl!

Time to start my first set of readings..

Although my timetable is a three day week this semester, the modules that I'm taking are rather heavy.. I hope I can make good use of my time and be productive! Haha.. So far, there are three modules which I have friends taking with me..CL2121 with Clarence, CL3207 with Yongxiang and EC2101 with CaoYang.. I hope there are pple whom i know in the other two modules too.. (:

WOO! A tired yet blissful day! I received a "surprise" from ben! Haha.. He came looking for me with a "cake" and red wine at 12am! Lol.. Just in time as my stomach was growling.. Oops!

my surprise!

Today is a day full of surprises! Haha

Good and bad ones! Hahaha..

Talk about the bad one first.. I suppose a bad surprise would be a shock!

Yup.. A shock. I was bidding for this module IT1001.. happily assuming that i would be able to get it with around 600 pts which was already considered alot.. So i put down 600 points and went to the toilet. When i came back and refresh the page after like 5mins? The next min bid point became 950 -_- Needless to say, i dropped that module..

Next, I was packing my room today as school term is beginning! Haha.. I saw some old music scores.. While i was flipping through them.. i found my sec 2 english compo! Haha.. I thought i've long thrown away my sec stuff! Haha.. Surprisingly. i was quite creative at that time!lol.. Where did all my creative juice go..

And my final and biggest surprise! I received smth from GJL! Hahaha! A handmade brithday card! So touched! And the theme is exactly the one i thought of having for my birthday party! Lol.. (You must have spent a lot of effort!! Thanks!!) But i have a question.. Why isn't that guy Ben but Jim Carey?! LOl..

And i'll help you promote ur masterpiece a little! HAPPY BIRTHDAY slogan handmade by jinling(and i help too, okay!) Hahaha... See.. i give u credit!
